With over 20 high school marching bands from across Kentucky and Tennessee participating in this year’s event, the Wildcat Stadium is expected to be full of students, parents, and spectators. Performances will start at 10 a.m. and continue throughout the day. This is the seventh year Bethel has hosted the invitational, and the University hopes to make it the most successful venture to date.

"I am very excited to be hosting this wonderful competition here at Bethel,” said Dr. J. Derek Jones, director of the Renaissance Regiment marching band. “We have a great lineup of local and regional bands from Tennessee and Kentucky, and it's always an exciting day of performances!"

Along with the friends and family of the student performers, community members are also invited to attend. Tickets are $10 and will be for sale at the front gate with concessions also available for purchase throughout the day.

“It is incredible for us to have the opportunity to host so many high school band programs, and to promote the impact that they have on the arts,” said Matthew Holt, executive director of Renaissance.

Renaissance, Bethel University’s Performing Arts Experience, allows students to continue to build on their creative passions while earning a degree in the major of their choice. With programs in vocal music, instrumental music, theatre, and production, students have the ability to earn substantial scholarships through participation in numerous performance opportunities.

Renaissance will be holding a fall audition day on November 12. For more information about the Invitational, fall audition dates, and other upcoming events, visit BethelRenaissance.com or contact Ryan Griffin at 731-352-6993 or griffinr@bethelu.edu.
