Bethel University has added two new degree options to its growing list of majors at the McKenzie, Tenn. campus. Beginning in Fall 2020, students will have the opportunity to enroll in the Associate of Science in Pre-Nursing and Bachelor of Science in Sports Management degree programs.

Both of these programs build on Bethel’s existing strengths and provide greater opportunities for students who will be entering the workforce.

“These new degree programs are a result of the work done by our faculty to strengthen and enhance the quality of our academic program by aligning our offerings with the interests of current and prospective students,” said Cindy Mallard, Vice President and Academic Dean. “We believe that these new degrees will prepare our students for successful careers in growing fields.”

Major: Associate of Science in Pre-Nursing
Department: Biology
College: College of Arts and Sciences
The Associate of Science in Pre-Nursing degree provides all necessary prerequisite courses for Bethel’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. Once accepted into the BSN program, this degree allows students the opportunity to go straight into the program without taking additional courses.

Major: Bachelor of Science in Sports Management
Department: Health and Human Performance
College: College of Arts and Sciences
A Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management will provide students with skills and concepts related to management, finance, marketing and law pertaining to the sports industry. Courses give an overview of the business side of a sports organization, with the use of the latest trends and technologies. This program will train students who want to become involved in the planning, organizing, managing, and budgeting of sports or physical activities.
