Two Bethel University alumni will lead the way as CEO at two West Tennessee hospitals.

Ruby Kirby was named CEO of Camden Hospital and Scott Barber is now permanent CEO of Dyersburg Hospital, according to a release last week from West Tennessee Healthcare.

Kirby and Barber are Bethel MBA graduates while Barber also earned his Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management at Bethel.

“We are so proud to see Ruby Kirby and Scott Barber take leadership roles for our West Tennessee citizens. We are so proud they are Bethel University alumni, but even more proud that they will be changing and influencing lives every day as they make West Tennessee a better place to call home,” University President Walter Butler said.

Kirby currently serves as CEO at Bolivar Hospital and will retain that role as she takes over the facility in Camden.

“We are excited that Ruby has accepted this additional position within our West Tennessee Healthcare team, and we believe that her passion for rural health, her experience, and leadership will help us continue Camden and Bolivar hospitals’ mission to improve the health and wellbeing of the communities we serve,” said Tina Prescott, Chief Operating Officer, in the release.

Barber had served as CEO in an interim capacity for Dyersburg Hospital since June 2020.

“We are excited that Scott has accepted this permanent position within our West Tennessee Healthcare team, and we believe that his experience and leadership will help us continue Dyersburg Hospital’s mission to improve the health and wellbeing of the community,” Prescott said.

Bethel University is a private, not-for-profit university affiliated with the Cumberland Presbyterian Church located in McKenzie, Tennessee. For more information on any of the degree programs mentioned in this release, visit bethelu.edu or contact us here.
