CAS Retention and Disability Services Coordinator
Reports to: Dean of Student Life
Status: Full Time
Location: McKenzie, TN
Purpose of Position and Scope of Responsibility: The Retention and Disability Services Coordinator works under the direction of the Dean of Student Life.
Responsibilities Include:
- Advise and provide orientation for students receiving the Opportunity Scholarship, the Servant Leader Scholarship, and the Bethel Service Scholarship; counsel and track those students’ needs throughout the year
- Serve as the liaison for all at-risk students who need tutoring or other support services
- Assist with registration and advise undeclared majors
- Teach two to three DEP 050 “Academic Success Skills” courses as needed each semester
- DEP 050 is required of students on Academic Probation and is also required of students who do not meet Regular Admission requirements
Minimum Qualifications | |
Knowledge/Education Experience Licensure, Registration, Certification | Bachelor’s Degree 2 years of experience in retention-related work |
Desired Qualifications | |
Knowledge/Education Experience Licensure, Registration, Certification | Master’s Degree 5 years of experience in retention-related work |
Physical Requirements:
Work requires the physical demands of standing, bending, lifting, stooping or performing other work requiring light physical exertion (up to 30 pounds) on an occasional basis (up to 15% of time) and frequent walking; or moderate physical exertion (up to 50 pounds) on an intermittent basis (not a routine part of the job).
Environmental Conditions:
Work is performed under normal working conditions as in a standard office environment.
